Where did you grow up?
Grew up in the hills of Perth. Riding pea-gravel has never been fun.
What do you do at Commuter?
I’m the “web guru”. I design, develop and manage the Commuter website and provide IT support for all the point of sale and staff computers.
What did you do for work before Commuter Cycles?
Various nerdy and creative things. Designer by trade and education.
What got you into riding?
My mum refusing to drive me to primary school.
What was the first bike you bought with your own money?
I can’t recall the bikes from my teens, but remember buying a Giant CRX flatbar commuter in the late 2000s.
Tell us a little about your current bikes?
Soma Double Cross for commuting, home-made bamboo bike for pootling, Surly Karate Monkey for bikepacking, Scott Spark for full squishy times, home-made carbon roadie for Zwift.
Favourite riding and non-riding food?
I’ve never seen food ride a bike. It tends to lack sentience. In terms of food that doesn’t ride bikes, I like Vietnamese, Japanese and Mexican.
Best day on a bike?
Any of the days that end in day.
Favourite route/riding accessible to Melbourne?
Love Melbourne’s network of creek trails or the Grampians.
What do you do when you’re not at Commuter (other than ride bikes!)?
Hang with my furr kid.
What is the kindest thing that anyone has ever done for you?
A cat once let me pat its tummy.
