Wilde Bikes in the House

It’s a rare treat that we get to welcome a whole new brand into the store. We’ve just landed our first delivery of Wilde bikes out of Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Wilde Bikes is the most recent project from Jeff Frane of All-City Cycles fame. Jeff has an incredible talent for designing bikes which perform great, are super versatile, and with an attention to detail you might only expect to see on a custom built frame.

Wilde are working with the legendary Maxway factory in Taichung, Taiwan to bring us three production model frames. The Rambler, an all steel drop bar oriented ATB and it’s carbon forked sibling, the Rambler SL. Both versions of the Rambler will clear a 2.2″ tyre on a 650b rim, or 50mm on a 700c. Compatible with 1X or more traditional 2X drivetrains, and with exactly the right number of rack and cargo mounting points (heaps).

Then the Supertramp, an all-steel rigid bikepacking rig. Based around 29″ rims with a 2.25″-2.6″ tyre but with clearance to run 2.6″-2.8″ on a 27.5″ rim. Boost spaced, BSA bottom bracket, internal dropper routing and post mount brakes.

All three models sport a stunning wet spray paint job, and some super elegant details. The steel forks are a super-cool segmented design, with hidden upper mounts for four-point mounting style racks. There’s full loop braze on cable guides under the stays and modular guides under the downtube so you can get the cable routing “just right”.

In addition to custom builds, some complete offerings might flow through in the new year but in the meantime we’ll also be making a “house build” option available for these frames.

Wilde Fork and wheel

For the Rambler, we’ll be offering full builds including Shimano GRX 1X12 drivetrain with GRX Hydraulic brakes and DT Swiss G1800 wheels. The price will be $5400 for the all steel Rambler and $5800 for the Rambler SL with matching carbon fork.

The Supertramp we’ll be building with Shimano Deore XT 1X12 drivetrain, XT brakes and DT Swiss M1900 wheels. Priced at $5600, it’s a really awesome expedition ready bikepacking all rounder build that is just at home on city trails as it is on some rough back country fire roads.

If you are looking to add a well thought out steel bike to your quiver get in contact and we can come up with a build to suit your needs.
