Pelago Stavangers are here

By

It’s super exciting to see the Pelago Stavangers finally in the store.
These are a great all-rounder, all-road, drop bar “ATB”, similar in many ways to bikes like the Surly Midnight Special or the Wilde Rambler, but also very much their own unique design.
The Stavanger is super good value as a complete bike with GRX 11 speed, hydraulic brakes and 700c wheels. Or as a frameset only it can be built up however suits you best, with 700c wheels up to a 50mm tyre or 650b up to a 57mm tyre.

There’s definitely a real utilitarian focus to the design. The front end is a little longer than many other bikes in the category, making things more stable when fully loaded.

There’s braze-ons and mounting points everywhere and for almost everything.
Integrated trailer-hitch mounts in the rear dropouts? Of course!

On our first few quick test rides, the bike feels super-comfy, very stable and has a surprisingly “light” ride-feel. For a more in-depth ride review, take a look at Josh Meissner’s fantastic write-up over at bikepacking.com.

They must all be pretty tall folks over at Pelago HQ because the sizes do run on the big side. Feel free to swing by for a test ride, or get in touch with us at the shop to chat sizing.
