Come and join us for our inclusive and supported fun-filled 3 day ride in Gariwerd. This three day route has been created from many years of experience riding backroads into the National Park from Ararat, thus THE DIRTY (Ara)RAT was born.

This year we plan to lighten your load and take the stress out of planning. Meals and snacks will be catered for for the whole event, so you can pack light knowing a feast awaits you at camp. There will be pop-up feed stations on day one and two as well as two dinners and two breakfasts provided. More information on the routes and a pack list will be emailed to you prior to the event.

The trip format is 3 days of riding with a minimum 65km per day on backroads and at times rough 4×4 tracks. A base level of fitness will aid in you having a great time. If you haven’t ridden this far in a while and just bring the stoke along, you’ll probably get by fine and we’ll wait for you!

Day one – Starts in Ararat at 11am and features a pretty solid climb into the park, but fear not, there will be a snack stop at the top! From there it’s a pretty easy roll to camp where you can relax or go explore a nearby peak on foot.
Day two – Allows you to choose from two different routes of either 65km or 115km around Gariwerd National Park with some spectacular lookouts to stop at and more pop-up rest stations scattered around the course.
Day three – Is a reverse of day one, meaning you have a gentle climb out in the morning and a ripping descent out of the park and lovely rolling hills back to Ararat.

Wondering how to get to the start?
V-Line runs a service from Southern Cross Station at 7:53am which gets into Ararat just before 11am, alternatively, there is also an option to jump on a Bus that will depart from the shop at 8am, details can be found on the booking page.

You will be expected to carry your own camping gear, spares and any alcohol or special snacks you wish to bring. Although there is support out on course there will be no sag wagon for non emergencies.
There will be a camp kitchen providing meals in camp and snacks for on the bike. Please fill out the appropriate add-ons for dietary requirements when purchasing tickets.
If you have any questions or concerns before booking please email [email protected] and I will get back to you ASAP.

*BOOKINGS ARE ESSENTIAL* and can be made through the Eventbrite link below.

We would like to acknowledge and pay respects to the Djab Wurrung and Jarrwadjali people, the traditional owners of the lands surrounding the Gariwerd national park
