Mechanical Brake Levers

At Off Course we have a great variety of mechanical brake levers from premier manufacturers such as Paul, Avid, Shimano, SRAM, Dia Compe and more.

Unlike the more complicated hydraulic levers, mechanical brake levers are simple and easily serviceable. They pair with rim brakes, or with mechanical disc brake calipers.

When picking out a set of mechanical brake levers, be sure to consider whether you are pairing the lever with “short-pull” (AKA “road”) brakes, or “long-pull” (AKA “mountain”) brakes. This refers to the amount of cable the lever pulls to engage the brakes, and matching both ends of your brake-system is crucial to maximising your stopping-power.
