Rims

At Off Course we are experienced wheel builders, and understand that high-quality rims are a central consideration in this craft.

Rims of premium quality must be both light and strong, and negotiating this compromise is something we trust to only a few manufacturers in the world. After all, if we’re building wheels in-house, we need to have faith that they are up to the task.

If you’re browsing rims, have a think about the following:

Diamater – From small-but-mighty 20″ cargo-bike wheels up to 29er goliaths, the diameter of a rim will influence rolling efficiency and strength.

Internal width – The width of the channel running down the centre of a rim determines the minimum, maximum and optimum tire width that can be run.

Tubeless – Some rims are compatible with tubeless tire setups. Some aren’t. If tubeless is your preference, check whether your rim will be compatible.

Material – Carbon or aluminium alloy are the two main materials rims are made from. Have a chat to us about which is right for you!

There are many other considerations beyond these. If you’re unsure, talk to us here at Off Course.
