Tyres
As the contact-point between your bike and the ground, tyres are pretty darn important. Our selection of tyres from Rene Herse, Teravail, Vittoria, Schwalbe, Maxxis and Panaracer has been curated through tens of thousands of kilometres of staff testing, and we take a lot of pride in the expertise we’ve developed along the way. We stock top-quality tyres, and this matters to us.
At Off Course we believe good quality tyres are about the single most noticeable upgrade you can make to a bike, in terms of performance, safety and control. Taking a bike with crumbling, bald tires and installing some fresh rubber will deliver an instant improvement across the board.
For a quick tip on tyre sizing, see below:
Tyre sizes:
Tyre sizing is based on two measurements: rim diameter, and tyre width.
The diameter of your tyre’s bead must match the rim you’re putting it on. Rim and tyre diameters can be measured in a range of different standards, originating from different parts of the world. For example, 700c, 622, 28″ and 29″ tyres all mount to the same diameter rim, with ISO 622mm.
Tyre width is measured at the widest point of the tyre, when fully inflated. Bike frames and forks will have a maximum width of tyre that they will accommodate.
If you’re looking to change tyre sizes on an existing wheelset, check out this chart below which will help inform your decisions around what tyre widths are compatible with your rims.
