The Thudbuster Parallel Linkage gives a natural suspension feel without being overly active. It maintains the same relative distance from seat to pedals so that you don’t feel an awkward bobbing motion as you pedal. The linkage stays in the direct path of the natural travel of the rear wheel. As a bump lifts the back of a bicycle, the rear wheel pushes up and forward into the rider. The Thudbuster linkage compresses along the exact opposite path — down and rearward — absorbing force at the same rate, and effectively neutralizing it.
Elastomer-BasedLightweight, Quiet, Controlled
Thudbuster’s suspension movement is powered by elastomer springs. We chose these super dense blocks of polymer because they offer several key benefits over metal coil springs. Elastomer springs are lighter, quieter, and don’t bounce erratically. They’re not as likely to creak and squeak as coil-sprung seatposts and their motion is very well controlled. Elastomers are inherently self-damping, meaning that the rebound properties of the material can be engineered so that the seatpost has a very smooth and controlled motion, especially when re-extending after being compressed. Thudbuster moves naturally, disguising its presence until it’s needed. No bouncing, and no pedal ‘bob.’
Customizable Ride Feel
Choose between 5 different elastomer springs to fine tune the ride feel of Thudbuster. Whether you want it super soft and forgiving, or more firm and supportive, we offer a range of elastomer springs to suit riders of all sizes and preferences.
Which elastomers are included?
Thudbuster ST comes with 3 mid-range elastomer choices. Thudbuster LT comes with medium elastomer installed. Additional elastomers for both seatposts sold separately.
Which One is Right for Me?
Thudbuster ST
- Better for riders with minimal seatpost extending from the frame.
- Higher rider weight limit : 330lbs / 150kg
- Less suspension movement than LT – ideal if attaching bags or accessories to seatpost (touring, bikepacking, commuting, ect)
Thudbuster LT
- Maximum comfort & bump absorption
- Noticeably more suspension than ST
- Requires about 6 inches (or 146mm) of minimum seatpost extension from frame
- Rider weight limit : 250lbs / 113kg
