René Herse 650B x 42 Babyshoe Pass TC

From $100.00

Our most iconic 650B tire has a perfect balance of on-pavement grip and off-pavement volume. Babyshoe Pass is remote pass nestled between the great volcanoes of Mount St. Helens and Mount Adams. It provides a back-door way from Seattle to Portland, avoiding the crowded Puget Lowland.

These tires roll as fast as racing tires on the paved lower sections of the climb, yet float over the gravel on the higher parts. They are surefooted on the descent to Trout Lake, where you can enjoy the famous huckleberry shakes at the local food spot.

The Standard casing is our more affordable option: comfortable and fast, yet also strong to withstand considerable abuse. The Extralight casing takes the performance, comfort and feel of your bike to an entirely new level. The Endurance casing is reinforced for extra sidewall protection and puncture resistance, while retaining the speed and comfort for which Rene Herse tires are famous.

TUBELESS & SEALANT RECOMMENDATIONS:

This tyre is tubeless-compatible, however if running tubeless on Rene Herse tyres we find the extralight casing can be tricky to set up and maintain, but the standard, endurance and endurance plus casings work well. We recommend using Orange Seal sealant. Check out Rene Herse’s guide to setting up tubeless tyres here.

The supple casing of our Rene Herse all-road tires rolls smoothly over surface irregularities. The tread pattern interlocks with the road surface for superior cornering grip, whether your roads are wet or dry. These are, hands down, the best tyres you can buy for your bike if you’re riding pavement or mixed terrain with relatively tame trails or gravel. They’re light, supple, fast rolling, and have pretty decent flat resistance. I run these on my rando bike, and also run the RH Snoqualmie Passes and Juniper Ridges on my gravel bike, depending on the surfaces I’m riding. You can find a Rene Herse tyre to match just about any size and riding condition combo you can think of.
