René Herse 700 x 38 Barlow Pass TC

From $125.00

The Barlow Pass is the sweet spot for most all-road bikes. We name our tires after the passes in the Cascade Mountains that inspire them: Barlow Pass is near the ghost town of Monte Cristo in the northern Cascades. Our Barlow Pass is the perfect tire for rides that combine equal portions of pavement and gravel: light enough so your bike retains the nimble feel of a road bike, yet 38 mm wide to give you amazing traction on pavement and off.

The Standard casing is our more affordable option: comfortable and fast, yet also strong to withstand considerable abuse. The Extralight casing takes the performance, comfort and feel of your bike to an entirely new level. The Endurance casing is reinforced for extra sidewall protection and puncture resistance, while retaining the speed and comfort for which Rene Herse tyres are famous.

TUBELESS & SEALANT RECOMMENDATIONS:

This tyre is tubeless-compatible, however if running tubeless on Rene Herse tyres we find the extralight casing can be tricky to set up and maintain, but the standard, endurance and endurance plus casings work well. We recommend using Orange Seal sealant. Check out Rene Herse’s guide to setting up tubeless tyres here.

The supple casing of our Rene Herse all-road tires rolls smoothly over surface irregularities. The tread pattern interlocks with the road surface for superior cornering grip, whether your roads are wet or dry. These tyres grip in any conditions really thick mud is an issue but for gravel road or single track excellent. They smooth out the road

Great grippy tyres with a plush ride. Had lots of trouble seating on the rim but other than that , great!

The best rolling, most comfortable tyres around. Not quite a long lasting as a Panaracer (yes I know, made my Panaracer) but damn they fell good. Even better when run tuneless or with TPU tubes
