René Herse 700 x 42 Hurricane Ridge TC

From $130.00

Whether you race gravel or head into unknown terrain, the Hurricane Ridge gives you the confidence that you’ll be able to handle everything from fast pavement to deep mud or snow. Named after one of the biggest climbs in the Northwest, the Hurricane Ridge uses our revolutionary dual-purpose knobby tread. The tire is always supported by the same amount of rubber, whether it’s rolling forward or leaning into a turn. This gives you uniform grip at all times – whether in a muddy gravel race or during a paved descent with ultra-fast hairpin turns.

The Standard casing is our more affordable option: comfortable and fast, yet also strong to withstand considerable abuse. The Extralight casing takes the performance, comfort and feel of your bike to an entirely new level. The Endurance casing is reinforced for extra sidewall protection and puncture resistance, while retaining the speed and comfort for which Rene Herse tires are famous. The Endurance Plus casing provides the ultimate in sidewall protection for extremely tough conditions.

TUBELESS & SEALANT RECOMMENDATION:

This tyre is tubeless-compatible, however if running tubeless on Rene Herse tyres we find the extralight casing can be tricky to set up and maintain, but the standard, endurance and endurance plus casings work well. We recommend using Orange Seal sealant. Check out Rene Herse’s guide to setting up tubeless tyres here.

    What others are saying

    1. Best tyres ever

      Peter (verified owner)

I first bought a set of Rene Herse Steilacoom Pass 700x38c Extralight tyres off you last December. I was so amazed by their low rolling resistance and amazing traction that I’ve subsequently bought a set of the ‘Standard’ sidewall Steilacooms for my son in law in Melbourne and this set of Hurricane Ridge Endurance tyres (same profile but 42mm wide) for my new gravel bike. I’ve only had one ride with the Hurricane Pass tyres (slow trans-Tasman postal service!!), but they are everything I expected after using the Steilacooms. The big feature of note from last night’s ride is that they offer very secure traction on soft muddy corners with loss of traction happening in a predictable and controllable way.

    2. Great off-road tyres

      Cotofana

Lots of grip, not too heavy. Work well tubeless.
