I switched from a Maxxis Icon 2.2. This tyre is noticeably quieter on tarmac and equally grippy on the trails.
I’m running it at 38-40psi and still finding them super supple and fast rolling.

The Rene Herse brand has a well-earned reputation for being a bit pretentious, but I’ve been riding on their Babyshoe passes for years, and the grand bois Hetres they imported before that on my rando bike. I finally broke down and bought the juniper ridges for my gravel bike, and fuck me dead, these are the best tyres I’ve ever ridden on dirt. Fast, quiet, supple, and grippy on dirt.
If you have the money to splurge on an upgrade, good tyres will make a bigger difference than just about anything else on your bike. Buy these tyres.
