This little bell is a class act. It’s a bit quieter than I had hoped but it certainly rings for longer than my old one.

I purchased this thing because its made out of long lasting brass rather than dinky aluminium and its made in the USA (more than I can say for their ‘compact’ model which is made in – taiwan i think.
this thing will outlast my bike. Its loud, resonant and pleasing to the ear. Worth the money.
The people at commuter cycles made my online purchase easy despite the covid4 restrictions, I pulled up out the front of their cute little backstreet shop and they ran it out to me. Beautiful. Glad I chose to spend my money here.

It cuts through back ground noise. Sometimes you need to twang it pretty hard but even a fog horn would fail to warn some people!

Lovely sound that resonates for a long time. Much louder than others I have had and is extremely robust.

I have had this nifty little bell on my cruiser bike for a few weeks now and I will say that it’s the most stylish bell I have ever seen and the best crisp, high pitched sound I have ever heard for a bike bell. The sound is so rounded and clear. Depending on the pressure with which you release the lever, the sound can be either soft or loud, but it’s the loudest bike bell I have ever had – of course, some people wouldn’t even hear a stampede coming! The sound also continues for ages, but you can just touch the bell itself to cut it short.
I am very happy with my purchase and it is absolutely worth the extra money you spend on it. It is of durable materials and build, so I’m sure it will last forever and the pure raw metal finish is so stylish, especially for a ladies bike. It comes with 2 different sized mounts, to suite either thicker or thinner handlebars and it is so easy to attach.
If you’re looking for a top quality, forever bell, this is it.
Thank you to Commuter Cycles for an easy and reliable online transaction.

I wasn’t too keen on spending so much on a bell but wow! It’s loud and really neat/compact on the handlebars. No instructions included on fitting but it really wasn’t hard to work out. It looks great and well made. I’m happy so far, time to ding ding the lockdown crowds on the busy shared paths.

I never thought I’d have an opinion about a bell, but I do now: this one can’t be mistaken in traffic, and such a beautiful object to look at…

I was really pleased with the service from Commuter Cycles – the online ordering process was very easy and the bell arrived quickly, nicely packaged too. I had tried a cheap copy of the Spurcycle bell and found it impossible to install. The real thing is real is real quality, it was easy to install, makes a lovely gentle but penetrating “ting” and looks stylish. Having been through a number of bells, I’m hoping this will last a lifetime.

I have 2 of these bells – I bought one at the time of the original release two decades ago, and another for my wife’s bike just recently. My original bell is going strong, but the rubber had perished – I was totally chuffed to find that Commuter Cycles had spare parts for it. My old bell is now refurbished and as good as new. Recommend this bell – a lovely clear, loud, long tone.

I’ve been using this bell for more than a year now, having substituted it for a similar but much cheaper design. It’s brilliant for use on cycle paths, where you’re likely to be overtaking other riders and pedestrians. The best feature is its sound: it’s musical enough to seem gentle even though it can go very loud. The reactions of people to the warning are much more appreciative than they had been to my previous device. The second great thing is how easily you can modulate the volume, giving a softer alarm where that’s more appropriate. The third is how long the chime resounds for: maybe five seconds. People hearing the alarm from behind can turn and locate you more easily because the chime is still ringing. A note on max volume: the bolt that tightens the bell on the handlebar also dampens the chime if you over-tighten it. For best results, tighten just enough to prevent the bell from rotating around the ‘bar. It will then go louder than any bell I’ve tried in the past, when desired.
