The combination of secure grip and comfort was the focus of development of the 710. The preferred area of use is a comfort-oriented mountain bike or a sporty trekking bike. Due to the perfect fit, the bicycle grips cut a good figure in both areas. The scope of delivery includes a set of grips.
This relief wing, which is located at the very edge and deeply extends downwards, frees up space for securely grasping the grip body in all situations. The raised grip end picks up the side of the hand and supports the hand. The inside’s level is higher and thus secures the natural position of the hand. Hence it specifically relieves the ulnar nerve, the median nerve and the carpal tunnel pass. The Ergobar offers a secure grip for the fingers and optimum support on the front and bottom with a wave-like elevation. The clamp moved from the outside to the inside in the course of the product development. This increases the shock absorption and comfort on the hand’s outer side. Thus, the SQlab grip series is no longer compatible with twist grips. Various rubber compounds ensure a perfect grip level and high comfort. We only use the best possible materials. This guarantees you a long service life and no sticking of the grip rubber. The personal grip size is what matters. With the 710 grip, the sizes differ in diameter, length and shape.

I bought the medium grips together with SQLab 410/402 Innerbarends Black for SQLab Grips. Changing over from Ergon GP3 grips/barends took some adjusting but worked great in the end.
The old Ergon’s were not comfortable on my new bike as the handlebars were wider and I was stretching too much. The SQLab Innerbarends seemed to be ideal so I got them and these grips. At first, the grips seemed too chunky high in the grip compared to the Ergon’s slimmer section at this point. I was getting some hand numbness and not happy with the set-up. As I usually do, I made small adjustments between lots of riding.
I ended up making some adjustments to the bar itself, twisting it slightly one way then the other. It seemed to take a while to get the grips and innerbarends and handlebars into a position that worked for me. I was starting to wonder if it would! But then, I noticed improvements and there came a time when I realised I was no longer thinking about more adjustments, I had forgotten about it and was simply enjoying my riding.
I’ve only done about a dozen hours of riding with the set-up working sweet but they have been tough hours and it is working very well indeed. My preferred riding is country roads and tracks, including overgrown service roads and poorly-maintained paths in outback national parks.
I was very happy with the service and ease-of-use of the store’s website. Simple to use, no tricks, just good service.

SQLabs 710 grips. They were dispatched promptly and received within 2 days which was amazing service.
I already have SQ Labs 16 degree bars on my Orbea Rise emtb but was using Ergon GA3 winged grips which were better than round grips like the Oury, but too soft in the wing and not supportive.
The new SQ 710s are like hammocks for hands, a wide contact area for the outer palm and no pressure on the ulnar nerve in the centre. There’s a bar under the grip for the fingertips and an indentation for the forefinger. The hand remains stable so that on steep downhills the brake levers are always in reach. The rubber is quite hard but contact is spread over a wide area so the feel is light and comfortable. It can take a while to get the best angle; the bolt is a massive 5mm Allen so it’s easy to adjust.
My sports physio commented that they tick all the boxes and he’s keen to try them.
Alfer trying many grips over the years these are definitely the keepers.
