Velo Orange Porteur Handlebar (25.4mm Clamp)

$80.00$95.00

One of our favourite bars for converting a bike to a more upright riding position. Because they are swept back they put the riders wrists on a comfortable angle. Not as wide as some of the other swept-back options out there, which makes them good for a lot city bikes. Also a good shape for use with a porteur rack because they allow plenty of room for cargo.

They are 48cm wide; reach is 14cm; grip area is about 13cm. and they have about 15mm of rise or drop. The clamp area is 25.4mm. These bars are available in two tubing diameters, 23.8mm road sized and 22.2mm mountain-bike-sized (clamp area is 25.4mm on both). 22.2mm (MTB-size) bars accept MTB brake levers and clamp-on shifters. They do not work with bar-end shifters. The only inverse levers that work are Dia Compe levers in the 22.2mm size. 23.8mm (road-size) bars accept standard inverse brake levers, bar-end shifters, and 23.8mm city brake levers. In short, anything made for road bars fits. They do not accept MTB levers or shifters.

Velo Orange Porteur Handlebar: What does the width of 48cm refer to? Is from the ends of each side of the handlebars or from bend to bend?

  2. Mik Efford

Hi Jo, handlebar width is from one end of the bar directly across to the other end of the bar. Cheers, Mik

I needed to relax the position on a bike that came with very deep drops and these bars did the job perfectly. Delivered in good time and without a fuss 👍
