Rack Fitting

Rack fitting can be really simple or really complicated depending on your bike. If the bike has eyelets in the right places it’s a quick job, if we need to fit racks to a bike that wasn’t designed for racks it can be more complicated. This can mean choosing a rack that mounts off quick release skewers or through axles and modifying parts to clear your brakes, etc. We always use the right combination of Loctite, grease, washers and spacers to make sure the rack doesn’t rattle loose.

Important notes regarding rack fitting

  • Whilst typically not a difficult process, fitting racks is often fiddly and can easily take 30-60 minutes of workshop time
  • Most rack fits will require some degree of cutting, cold-setting, filing or adapting to install properly
  • We are not able to accommodate people installing racks themselves at the shop
  • If you would like us to fit a rack you purchase in-store, please be aware that you will likely need to book a fitting, or leave the bike with us until we have time to squeeze it in
  • If you’re purchasing a rack in-store, or collecting an online purchase to install at home, please make sure you have some way to carry it home.
